It’s almost that time, folks! Dust off your instruments, get out your autumn clothes, and prepare yourselves for a fun season of music-making. Our first rehearsal is going to focus on violins, double bass, and trumpet, following the audition sheets of the Boston Symphony and the Boston Ballet Orchestras. I have picked four selections that I think would be a great kickoff to our time together. I’ll post more details in the coming days about each specific piece.
Our first rehearsal will be 1-4:30PM on Saturday, the 26th of September 2026 at University Lutheran Church (66 Winthrop St, Cambridge MA). We will visit:
- Mozart Symphony No. 39, movement 1
- Mendelssohn’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” Scherzo
- Respighi’s “Pines of Rome”, movement 2
- Beethoven Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”, movement 3
